Home Window Glass

Window glass selection is an important decision. With so many options to choose from, it’s necessary to identify the best product to achieve a comfortable indoor atmosphere. Insulated glass units are designed to improve a window’s thermal performance, keeping homes warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. These units, commonly known as double pane windows, have multiple panes in the unit, which improve the window’s insulating properties. These energy-efficient units can reduce energy expenses, noise pollution, and your carbon footprint.

Mirrors

Mirrors can be purely decorative, functional, or a little bit of both. No matter the purpose, mirrors are an integral part of a home’s interior. Mirrors come in all shapes and sizes, and can be customized to complement any space in your home. There are many types of mirrors to fit different areas of a home, including custom wall mirrors and floor mirrors to bedroom dressing mirrors and bathroom vanity mirrors. Mirrors can also be used to brighten darker areas, to make a room appear more spacious, or simply to add a personal touch to a particular room.

Types of Specialty Glass

Laminated

Laminated safety glass is difficult to penetrate, reduces transmission of high-frequency sound, and blocks some ultraviolet radiation. This type of glass is often used for automobile windshields.

Tempered

Tempered safety glass is strong, and breaks differently than regular glass. When struck, tempered glass does not break into sharp, jagged pieces; instead it breaks into small, smooth, pebble-like pieces. This type of glass is often used in side and rear windows of automobiles.

Plexiglass / Lexan

Plexiglas and Lexan are safety glazing materials that are able to be repeatedly heated and cooled. Both are more impact resistant and heat resistant than regular glass.
